Vivian I. Hartleroad, 93, of Peru, IN, passed away on Thursday, February 6, 2020 after a short stay at Blair Ridge Health Campus in Peru. Vivian was born on September 22, 1926, the daughter of George and Mabel Boyd Clark. She married Raymond “Bub” Hartleroad on June 8, 1946, and he preceded her in death.
Vivian was a graduate of Peru High School and attended beauty college in Fort Wayne, IN. She and her husband owned a restaurant in downtown Peru for several years. She also worked as an insurance clerk for the food stamp office for many years and was a member of the First Christian Church. She was an avid Notre Dame fan. Her greatest joy was spending time with her loving family.
Vivian is survived by a son, Greg (Diane) Hartleroad of Peru, grandchildren; Greg M. (Laura) Hartleroad, DeWayne (Sue Ann) Smith, Jeff (Amber) Hartleroad and Stacy Amor, great-grandchildren; Justin, Kaylie, Emily, Bridgette, Madison, Jarett, Ashley, Samantha, Emmett, Xavier, Jacob, Jordan and several great-great grandchildren.
Vivian was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son, DeWayne Hartleroad, a grandson, Steven Hartleroad, two brothers, two sisters and two great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held at Riverview Event Center, Sunday, February 16, 2020 from 3:00 to 5:00 P.M.
