Sandra Jarvis

Sandra Jean (Sandy) Jarvis passed away peacefully and went to heaven on March 12, 2024.  She lived in Peru, IN with her husband, Ralph, who survives.

Sandy was born on May 22nd, 1947 in New Palestine, IN and was the daughter of George Henry, Sr. and Hilda (Kemper) Kleiman.  She graduated from New Palestine High School and Indiana University.  Sandy was dedicated to helping others in the field of social work and retired from the Kinsey Youth Center in Kokomo, IN.

Sandy is also survived by her children Shawn (John) Cox of Indianapolis, IN, Shannon (Christi) Russ of Westfield, IN, and Travis Russ of New York City, NY; her grandsons Evan and Gavin Russ of Westfield, IN; her step-children Melody (Allen) Miracle of North Manchester, IN, Lisa (Russell) Ricks of Greentown, IN, and Vernon Jarvis of Louisville, KY; 6 step-grandchildren; 4 step great-grandchildren her sisters, Phyllis Hart, Evelyn Cook, Judith Elsbury; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers-in-law Don Cook and Rich Elsbury, and brother George Kleiman, Jr.

Sandy married Ralph Jarvis on January 1st, 1996 in Kokomo, IN.  They enjoyed retirement together and especially enjoyed fishing in Patoka Lake and spending winters in Florida.  As Sandy’s health declined, Ralph was her constant companion.

A celebration of life honoring the life of Sandra will be held on Tuesday, March 19, 2024, at 6 pm, with Chaplain Larry Phillips officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 4 pm until the time of the service.
