Rosanna Mae Kinney

June 14, 1926 — March 10, 2022

Rosanna Mae (Landgrave) Kinney, 95, passed away peacefully March 10, 2022 after a brief illness. She was born in Peru, Indiana, and lived there until her death. She married her best friend since the second grade, Max Edward Kinney, in August 1946. He preceded her in death in 1995. Until her recent illness, she lived a vibrant and independent life for 76 years in the home they built together.

“Rosie” as many knew her, lived up to her name by bringing a brightness to family, friends and the routines of life in a way that made the ordinary both joyous and memorable. Whether she was cooking for family gatherings, playing games, painting, or creating various craft projects for their booth in Nappanee with her husband Max, her hands were rarely still. She enjoyed travel, animals, socializing with friends at the local coffee shop, and anything sweet she could find. She was known for an incredible work ethic and an infectious smile and laugh. Rosanna lived the life of a caregiver looking after not only her own mother, but her mother-in-law in later years as well. Rosanna was also involved in a variety of community fundraising efforts for causes through her sorority, Epsilon Sigma Alpha. There, she also took on leadership by serving a term as president. She attended Oakdale Baptist Church and the First Baptist Church in Peru.

Rosanna is survived by her son Alan Kinney (Mary) of Cicero, IN; daughter Vicki Brock (Michael) of Linton, IN; daughter Susan Hammond (Richard) of Peru, IN.

Also surviving are grandchildren: Allyson Wright (Jesse) of Pflugerville, TX; Colleen Hunt (John) of Brentwood, TN; Zachary Smith (Amy) of Franklin, IN; Patrick Brock (Heather) of Greencastle, IN; Angela Tharp (Dan) of Indianapolis, IN; Will Hammond (Andrea) of Peru, IN; Claire Kriegler (TJ) of Fishers, IN; and Rachel Hammond of Fishers, IN. She was a great grandmother to sixteen.
