Raymond E. Koons

Raymond E. Koons, 78 of Peru passed away peacefully at 12:45 p.m., Friday, October 27, 2023 surrounded by family.

Born on June 15, 1945 in Illinois, he was the son of the late Grethel and Edith (Talbert) Koons.

On July 25, 1965 he married Janet Struckman, she survives.

Raymond retired from Square D.  He enjoyed fishing, watching westerns and most of all spending time with family and friends.

He was a proud U. S. Army veteran serving in Vietnam.

Survivors include his wife, Janet Koons of Peru, daughter, Tammy Bellamy (Rick) of Peru and brother, John David Koons (Sheila) of Oklahoma.  He is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by daughters, Marie Jannell Koons and Danielle Dawn Koons.

Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday, November 6, 2023 at Riverview Funeral Home, 421 W. Canal St., Peru.

Graveside services with military rites will follow at 1:00 p.m. at Marion National Cemetery.
