Phyllis B. Pasley

Phyllis Berniece Pasley, 93, of Peru passed away peacefully on Monday, May 30, 2022 at Dukes Memorial Hospital.

She was born November 11, 1928 in Wabash County near Roann at the crossroad south of Stockdale to the late Roy & Edith (Rausch) Crist. She was the third of eight children; Ruthanna, Harvey, Richard, Charles Crist, Shirley Stambaugh, Martha Stambaugh & Doris Jean (Gridley) Spurgeoun.

She was a graduate of Peru High School class of 1946.

She married Herman Ulysses Pasley in December 1950. He passed away on January 26, 1975. She helped take care of her in-laws, Jesse & Drucillia Pasley in their later years.

Phyllis worked in office at H.A. Thrush, Local Finance (11 Years) & retired from the office at Square D in 1995 after 37 years.

She belonged to Miami County Rural Youth Club 27 and was also a pink lady at Dukes Hospital since 1980, active for nearly 39 years (sustaining now).

Phyllis was a member of First Christian Church, helping with children’s department for several years.

She was a huge fan of the Indiana Pacers and was an avid bingo player.

Phyllis always attended the kids’ school and sporting events without fail.

Surviving are her sons, David L. (Michele) Pasley, Greenwood, John Pasley, Peru and Gregory Pasley, Peru.

Grandchildren; Zack (Joana) Pasley, Greenwood, Zane (Mare) Pasley, Indianapolis,  Jessica Whistler, Peru and David M. Pasley, Peru. Step grandchildren include Jarrett Myer and Erin Fisher.

Great grandchildren; Cash, Holden, Zoey, Diego, Eli (Pasley), Alayna, Ethan (Whistler). Step great grandchildren Ryan & Reid (Fisher), Jackson & Elizabeth (Myer). She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, June 2, 2022 at Riverview Funeral Home, 421 W. Canal St., Peru, with Pastor Jim Loft officiating.  Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service.

Burial will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery.
