Patricia A. (Hammond) Hunkler

Patricia Ann Hunkler, 71, of Liberty Township, Ohio passed away at 1:00 pm, Tuesday, January 18, 2022.

Born on October 18, 1950 in Peru, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Richard H. and Jane Ellen Hammond both of Peru.

She married Glen D. Boettjer Jr. on July 19, 1969 and divorced later. Patricia married Ted Hunkler in April 1994. He preceded her in death in 2009.

She graduated from Peru High School in 1969.  Worked at Peru Police Department as a dispatcher in the mid 70’s.  She then moved to Ohio and worked for Fairfield Police Department until 1996.

Survivors include her children, Anje Boettjer of Ft. Wayne, Bridgette Boettjer of Ohio, Corey Boettjer of Ohio, sisters, Nancy Siders of Peru, Teresa Hammond of Marion, brothers, Jerry Hammond (Brenda) of Peru, Richard Hammond (Susan) of Peru, and grandchildren, Greta Boettjer and Abigale Boettjer, several nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by infant son, Ryan Henry Boettjer, sister, Amy L., and brother in law, Richard E. Darland II.

Visitation will be at 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Sunday, January 23, 2022 at Riverview Funeral Home, 421 W. Canal St., Peru.

A Mass of Christian Burial, will be at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at St. Charles Catholic Church, 58 W. 5th St., Peru, with Father Adam Mauman officiating.
