Myron Lee “Bugsy” Johnson, 57, of Peru passed away unexpectedly on Monday, October 10, 2022 at home.
Born on August 14, 1965 in Tipton, he was the son of Myron Leslie and Gloria Mae (Monroe) Johnson.
On May 27, 1995 he married Tina M. Day, she survives.
He graduated from North Miami High School in 1983, following graduation he joined the U.S. National Guard from 1984 to 1992.
Myron was the owner and operator of Johnson’s Appliance Repair Service, previously he worked at Mallow’s Repair for 28 years.
He was a devoted husband and father. He enjoyed fishing, tractor shows, wood working, gardening and hunting. He was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church and a member of Tri-State Gas Engine & Tractor Association, Inc. Myron helped many people in the community when needed.
Survivors include his wife, Tina M. Johnson of Peru, daughter, Maranda Smith (Ryan), father, Myron Leslie Johnson, sisters, Dana Jelenek (Stan) and Sheila Gray (Scott), mother in law, Martha Day and brother in law, Erik Day (Shannon). He has several nieces, nephews, great nieces, a great nephew, aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Gloria Mae Johnson and nephew, Conner Gray.
Services will be at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, October 13, 2022 at Riverview Funeral Home, 421 W. Canal St., Peru, with visitation from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
Burial with military rites will be performed at St. John’s Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the funeral home in c/o the family.
