Marvin A. Tucker, 88, of Peru, passed away at 3:32 p.m. Sunday, February 9, 2020 in Lutheran Hospital in Ft. Wayne. Marvin was born March 6, 1931 in Kosciusko County Indiana to Joseph W. and Elizabeth Tucker.
Marvin graduated from Peru High School in 1950. He joined the United States Marines following High School to serve his country in Korea. When Marvin returned from the military, he joined the Peru Fire Department where he served for 30 plus years. He was an avid coon hunter and enjoyed carpenter work.
Surviving family include his two daughters, Michele (David) Pasley, Greenwood, IN; and Kimberly (Danny) Tucker Powell of North Carolina. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Tyler (Jessica) Johnson, Shaylan Johnson, Brandon Powell, Matthew (Samantha) Powell, Jarrett (Angela) Nevitt-Meyer, Erin (Matthew) Fisher, Zachary (Joanna) Pasley and Zane (Mary) Pasley. He is also survived by thirteen great grandchildren. Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, February 14, 2020 at Riverview Funeral Home in Peru with Pastor Brian Maggert officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery with Military Honors graveside. A time of visitation will take place from 11:30 until service time at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
