Mark Eric Huffman

Mark Eric Huffman, 60, of South Bend, went to be with Jesus, on Tuesday, December 24, 2024, at Beacon Memorial Hospital, in South Bend. Mark was born on April 24, 1964, in Wabash. He was the son of the late Robert Huffman, and Judith (Morecraft) Pherson, who survives.

A 1983 graduate of Maconaquah High School, Mark grew up a devote Christian and attended church regularly. He became an ordained minister and lead church services at Portage Manor while it was open.

Mark had a true passion for almost all sports and was on the Special Olympics team. Mark’s special team was the White Sox. His favorite job was being an usher for Notre Dame. Mark never met a stranger, and he only saw the good in all people.

Mark is survived by his mother; Judith (Morecraft) Pherson, stepfather; Gary Pherson, sister; Dawn Huffman, stepsisters; Michelle Lund, Molly (Brian Fisher), stepbrothers; Abe Pherson, Benjamin Pherson, the love of his life Jenny Rishel for 26 years, whom he adored, and several nieces and nephews.

Mark was preceded in death by sister; Theresa Lund.

A funeral service honoring the life of Mark will be held on Monday, December 30, 2024, at 2 pm, with Pastor Ryan Lewellan officiating, located at Riverview Funeral Home, 421 West Canal Street, Peru. Friends may visit with the family from 1 pm until the time of the service.
