Keith J. Thompson, 81, of Peru, went home to be with the Lord early Thursday morning, March 26th at his home. He was born October 17, 1938 in Sheridan, Indiana to the late Howard N. and Dortha H. (Phillips) Thompson. He married Diane Jean Mattingly on May 27, 1977 at Eastlawn Wesleyan Church in Indianapolis and she survives.
Keith was a graduate of Sheridan High School and attended IUPUI. He was a member of E.A.A. (Experimental Aircraft Association) and College Corner Brethren Church in Wabash. He enjoyed motorcycle trips and woodworking. He served his country in the United States National Guard for nine years. Keith retired from Countrymark with 48 year’s service as a supervisor.
Surviving family include his wife Diane Thompson, Peru; his children, Aaron Keith (Kristi) Thompson, Benjamin Lee Thompson and Marcia Ann Thompson; his grandchildren, Kaymi Marie, Laney Ann, Avery Aaron and Tyler Keith. He is also survived by his siblings, Nancy Harbaugh, Mark (Jo Carol) Thompson and April (Jose) Quinones. Keith is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Paul, Dale and Howard Eugene one sister Julia Stevens and brother-in-law, Jim Harbaugh.
Private service will be held on Monday, March 30th at Riverview Funeral Home in Peru with Pastor Joe Bellone officiating. Burial will follow in the Crown View Cemetery in Sheridan, Indiana. In memory of Keith, memorial contributions may be given to WFYI or CBN.
