Helen L. (Hillman) Cleland

Helen L. Cleland, 98, of Peru passed away peacefully at 10:00 p.m., December 10, 2019 at Blair Ridge Health Campus. Born on May 4, 1921 in Logansport, she was the daughter of late William and Lillie (Nethercutt) Hillman. She married Willard Cleland on December 23, 1939 and he preceded her in death on August 3, 1992. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene.  Helen liked to paint, quilting and crafting.

Survivors include her good friends, Cathy Brubaker and Delores Donathen, 4 grandchildren, and brother, Robert Cleland and his wife Linda. She was also preceded in death by her son, Jerry Cleland, daughter, JoAnn Avery. Per Helen’s wishes there will be no visitation or service. She will be laid to rest next to her husband at Mt. Hope Cemetery at a later date.
