Evelyn S. (Thomas) Grundmeyer

Evelyn (Evie) Grundmeyer, 74, Peru, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on January 17, 2022. She was born February 22, 1947 in Sharon, PA to John and Mary Thomas. She grew up in Masury, OH and graduated from Brookfield High School in 1965. On March 18, 1972 she married Dale Grundmeyer. They raised a son (Brian) and a daughter (Mary). They lived in various cities while Dale served in the U.S. Air Force before settling in Indiana in 1987, where they raised their family and built lifelong friendships.

Evie worked a variety of jobs including Peru Trust, American Stationery and Carolyn’s Dress Shop and served her community as a volunteer at Birthright of Peru. She enjoyed being around people and loved spending time with family and friends.

Evie was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary Thomas and brother, John Thomas. Survivors include her husband, Dale, two children Brian (Shannon) Grundmeyer of Marietta, GA and Mary (Justin) Dietz of Woodstock, CT; grandchildren, Evan and Lauren Grundmeyer; and a sister, Mary Ann Palermo of Sharon, PA.

Services will be private and at the convenience of her family.
