Ellen (Astrup) Leedy

Ellen (Astrup) Leedy, 70, of Peru, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 9, 2025, at The Waters of Peru. Ellen was born on January 28, 1955, in Peru, to the late Wallace and Jacqueline (Farnam) Astrup.

On July 2, 1987, Ellen married Jim Leedy, who survives.

Ellen was a graduate of Peru High School. She was a homemaker and enjoyed working at Miller's Merry Manor.

In her free time Ellen enjoyed arts and crafts, watching the birds and spending time outdoors. Ellen had four cats that she adored. Ellen was also member of The First Church of Christ in Peru. Her most cherished past time was spending time with her loving family.

Ellen is survived by her husband; Jim Leedy, daughter; Elisha (Chad) Sanders, sister; Jackie Hall, brother; Lawrence Astrup, grandchildren; Jacqueline Walker, Madyson Sanders, a great- grandchild; Athena Sanders, stepchildren; Jack Leedy, Philip Leedy, Barbara Leedy, and several nieces and nephews.

Ellen was preceded in death by brothers; Wallace Astrup, Tom Astrup, sister; Beth Tressler, and her grandson; Alexander Sanders.

Memorial contributions may be made in Ellen’s honor to the Scratching Post Cat Rescue.
