Dearl Ashley

Dearl Ashley, 94, of Peru, passed away on the evening of October 21, 2019 with his loving family by his side at Miller’s Merry Manor in Peru. He was born on Feb. 10, 1925 in Clay City, Ky to the late Hearld and Sally (Willis) Ashley. On March 8, 1946 he married Betty McKinley and she preceded him in death on June 12, 2017. Together Dearl and Betty raised eight children.

Dearl will be dearly missed by many, especially by his surviving children and grandchildren.

Dearl is survived by his seven children, Dearl (Pam) Ashley Jr., Peru, Tom (Linda) Ashley, Tennessee, William Ashley, Peru, Shirley (Jim) Nevius, Peru, Donna Ashley, Peru, Larry Ashley, Peru, Pam (David) Lewis Peru, 13 grandchildren, David (Lydia) Ashley, Vicki (Chris) Kafura, Tonia Ray, Rich (Tracy) Ashley, Kara (Sean) France, Kristen Ashley, Kevin Ashley, Matthew Lewis, Brandon Lewis, Jeffrey (Katie) Lewis, and Jessie Lewis. Brother William Reese Ashley, 13 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one son, Richard Ashley, one brother, Norris Ashley, one sister Ila Ashley, two grandchildren, James Michael Ashley and Bradley Ashley.

Funeral services will be held Friday, October 25, 2019 at Riverview Funeral Home with Rev. Evan Strong officiating. Visitation will be held 11am until the time of service at 1pm. Burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Peru. Family and friends can leave condolences online at www.riverviewfhperu.com
