Claudia M. (Lacefield) Shuey

Claudia M. Shuey, 79, of Peru passed away at 12:30 a.m., Saturday, October 16, 2021 at home surrounded by family.

Born on September 8, 1942 in Plymouth, she was the daughter of the late Claude and Grace Lacefield. She was also preceded in death by sisters, Betty Gilley and Barbara Ryan.

Claudia formerly worked at Delco, Clark Sign Systems, and the YMCA.  She was a member of Bachelor Creek Church in Wabash.  Anyone who knew her, knew she was selfless and would do anything she could to help anyone.  She enjoyed being with grandchildren, going to church, gardening, reading, volunteering at the Republican Headquarters, crocheting, playing cards, Christmas time shopping, baking, pretty much doing things for others. She especially enjoyed spending time with the Lord and leading others to Jesus Christ.

Survivors include her children, Debra Clark (Mike) of Peru, Matthew Shuey (Tammy) of Kokomo, Annamarie Elliott (Ray) of Orlando, Florida, Mark Shuey (Holly) of Kokomo, and Stephanie Shuey of Peru. Grandchildren include Brittany Rober (Lucas), Emily Welch (Gabe), Jake Gilvin (Ashey), Sami Martin (Matt), Spencer Elliott, of Orlando, Florida, Maysie Hewitt (Ty), Avery Hewitt, Rachel, Lilyana, Isaiah, Josiah, and Hezekiah Shuey.  Her great grandchildren’s names are Jacoby and Jerrod Gilvan.

Visitation will be from 4-8 on Thursday Oct 21 at Riverview Funeral Home, 421 W. Canal St., Peru.

A private burial will be at Reyburn Cemetery in Peru.
