Betty Mae Ashley

Betty M. Ashley, 91, of Peru, passed away on Monday, June 12, 2017 at Blair Ridge Health Campus. She was born to the late Lloyd and Jessie McKinley on March 25, 1926 in Peru. On March 8, 1946 she married Dearl Ashley and he survives and together they raised eight children.

Betty will be dearly missed by many, especially her loving husband, 8 children and all of her grandchildren.

She is survived by seven of her children, Dearl (Pam) Ashley Jr, Peru; Tom (Linda) Ashley, Tennessee; William Ashley, Peru; Shirley (Jim) Nevius, Peru; Donna Ashley, Peru; Larry Ashley, Peru; Pam (David) Lewis, Peru; 13 grandchildren; David (Lydia) Ashley; Vicki (Chris) Kafura; Tonia (Steven) Ray; Rich (Tracy) Ashley; Kara (Sean) France; Kristen Ashley; Kevin Ashley; Matthew Lewis; Brandon Lewis; Jeffrey (Katie) Lewis and Jessie Lewis. Brother, Robert (Florence) McKinley; sister, Barbara (Leroy) Miller. 13 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Richard Ashley; two brothers, Lloyd McKinley Jr. and Gerald McKinley and two grandchildren, James Michael Ashley and Bradley Ashley.

Funeral services will be held Friday, June 16, 2017 at Riverview Funeral Home with Dick Wiles officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 am until 3:00 pm with the funeral service to follow at 3:00 pm. Burial will be at Mount Hope Cemetery, Peru.
