Anthony "Tony" M. Benedict

Anthony M. “Tony” Benedict, 26, of Peru passed away on Sunday, January 3, 2021 in Kokomo.

Born on January 20, 1994 in Wooster, Ohio, he was the son of Scott Benedict and Cindy Benedict Rhodes.

He was a 2012 Kokomo High School graduate where he had been active in multiple student groups.

Tony was currently working at the Coterie Bar in Kokomo and just previous of that at Zinn Kitchens in Flora.  Besides spending his time with his wife, friends, and family, Tony also had a love and an eye for photography, a taste for good food and drink, and an ear for amazing music. Throughout his time with us he was involved in a wide range of activities including wrestling (as both a student and coach), soccer, assisting with Bridges Outreach in Kokomo, SpringHill Camps, Oakbrook Student Ministries, and the Lords of Social Distance Bike Club to name a few.

He formerly attended and served at Oakbrook Church in both Kokomo and Peru.

On October 10, 2020 he married his best friend Sarah J. Gould, she survives.

Survivors include his wife, Sarah Benedict of Peru, mother, Cindy Rhodes of Kokomo, father, Scott Benedict of Kokomo, brother, Ross Benedict of Peru, grandmother, Betty Jo Benedict of Kokomo, nephew, Lincoln Benedict of Peru, nieces, Kyah Benedict and Mila Benedict of Kokomo, mother and father-in-law, Devonna and Kent Gould of Peru and brothers in law, Nick Gould of Kansas City and Dustin Armstrong (Charlene) of Ft. Wayne, and several aunts, uncle's and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Sharon Rose Jarrells, grandfather, Dewayne Benedict, and Aunt, Linda Mae Jarrells.

A public visitation will be from 4:00pm to 8:00pm on Monday, January 11, 2021 at Riverview Funeral Home, 421 W. Canal St., Peru.

Services will be private.
